Nancy L. Krieg, 91, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend entered Heaven on Wednesday March 3, 2021. A joint funeral for Nancy and Satch will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2023 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Pastor Lisa Lewton officiating.
Nancy Lee McBride was born February 4, 1930, to Morton L. and Emma F. (Lish) McBride in Dickinson. She was the youngest child of three sisters and one brother. Nancy was raised in the family home and completed her schooling in the Dickinson Public Schools.
Nancy worked at Helen’s Frock Shop in downtown Dickinson before and later on in her marriage to Harold “Satch” Krieg. The couple was married on September 28, 1952, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dickinson. Nancy was chairman of her church’s service committee and a faithful worshiper at the 8:00 A.M. service for over sixty-five years. Her example of a faith-driven life was passed onto her children.
Because Nancy lost her mother when she was four, being a mother and homemaker was her highest calling. She raised six children (five living), and her unconditional love for each of her children shaped their lives.
Nancy’s legacy to her husband and family is one of selfless service and love. She also demonstrated this in her involvement with the two other service organizations of which she was a member: the Dorcas Society and Eastern Star.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of sixty-eight plus years Harold “Satch”; children, Roberta (Myron) Duttenhefer, Mickey (Cindy) Krieg, Janice (Greg) Pavlicek, Mort (Cheryl) Krieg, and Pete (Tina) Krieg; thirteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved son, Dean Scott; parents, Morton and Emma; and siblings, Carol, Audrey, Mort, and Janice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Trust Fund or the Dorcas Society.
