Leona M. Dolechek, 82, Dickinson, died Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson. Inurnment and Committal Rites for Leona will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery on Friday, December 4, 2020. There will be a public visitation on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Leona Mae Twardoski was born November 22, 1938 in Killdeer, daughter of John and Anna (Wozniak) Twardoski.
Leona married Christ Dolechek on September 17, 1957 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Following their marriage they began actively farming, and she was a devoted farm wife and mother. She worked in the medical care field as a CNA for about 12 years (1978-1990), they retired in 1991.
She was a loving mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend to many. Leona loved bingo and gambling in Deadwood. She loved to socialize and visit with anyone. Leona had a very special knack for making friends and sparking conversation with complete strangers. She was a member of homemakers. Leona was a great cook and had the best homemade buns in Stark County.
Leona is survived by her children, Ricky (Lynn) Dolechek, Andrea (Joe) Couillard and Robby (Dawn) Dolechek; grandchildren, Matthew (Tiffany) Dolechek, Kayla Dolechek, Mark (Danielle) Dolechek, Britany (Josh) Thrams, Chris (Samantha) Thernes, Alyssa (Derek Luse) Thernes, Jordan Dolechek, Jaymin (Joelle) Dolechek and Annabelle Dolechek; great-grandchildren, Rye and Riggen Thrams, Hayslee, Carson and Jaylie Dolechek, and siblings, Steve (Angie) Twardoski, Bennie (Mike) Pfau and Shirley (Dave) Bray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Christ in July 2010; son, Randy in June 2018; numerous siblings and in-laws.
