Jeanette Ann Trott was born June 28, 1935, the daughter of Buren & Ruby (Jenkins) Trott in Kinston, N.C. She graduated from Granger High School in Kinston. She met Chester E. Koller while he was stationed at the Air Force base in Kinston, and they were married in March of 1956. Chester was later stationed in Laredo, Texas where Mark and Lynette were born. They eventually moved back to North Dakota to take over the family farm where they raised their children, Mark, Lynette, and Daniel.
Jeanette enjoyed working on the farm, especially summer fallowing and swathing wheat. She later graduated from hairdressing school and worked as a beautician for several years. She taught Sunday School at the First Congregational Church in New England. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, and if she knew someone was going through a trying time, she would tell them, “I’ll say some special prayers for you.”
She liked growing flowers and also was a very good artist. She received the Governor’s Award with one of her watercolor paintings, which was displayed in the Governor’s Mansion for a year. She loved sewing and making clothes for herself and Lynette. Jeanette was a member of the neighborhood sewing club where all the local farm wives got together periodically.
Jeanette was very proud of her children’s achievements, and she enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.
Jeanette is survived by her brother, William (Aara) Trott, Enterprize, Ala.; her sons, Mark (Karen) Koller, New England, Daniel (Barb) Koller, Lake Elmo, Minn., and daughter, Lynette (Leon) Hewson, Amidon; grandchildren, Jackie (Adam) Ross, Howell, N.J., Kristin (Tony) Sosinski, Fargo, David Molitor and Casey Molitor, Dickinson, Kelly (Zac) Eslinger, New England, Abby (fiancé Russ Haun) Koller, Eagan, Minn.; Jody (Bobby) Cournoyer, Amidon, and Adam Hewson, Bismarck; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia (J.R.) Grant; and an infant sister.
