Mary L. Feininger, 89, Dickinson, died Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at her home with family at her side. Mary’s Immediate and Extended Family Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, August 31, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Keith Streifel as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Public visitation will be on Sunday from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M., at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Mary L. Luptak was born May 14, 1931 in South Heart, the daughter of Dominick “Nick” and Anna (Ficek) Luptak. She was raised and educated in Dickinson where she attended St. Patrick’s Elementary and Dickinson High School.

Mary was united in marriage to Peter P. Feininger on September 6, 1948 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson. She and Pete owned and operated Pete’s Electric from 1962 to 1991 where she did bookkeeping until 1990. She also helped her daughter-in-law for 20 plus years at Kim’s Daycare. During this time she also worked for the American Greeting Card Company at Woolworth’s from 1987 to 1990.

She had a true love for children which showed in her love her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of the children at the daycare. She had a passion for perennial flowers and her garden each Spring. She enjoyed playing Scrabble, sweepstaking, crossword puzzles, and mystery books.

She loved making awesome holiday dinners, her kolaches and pumpkin pies. We will miss her beautiful smiles, gentle hugs, kind words of wisdom, and her genuine love.

Mary is survived by four children, Francis “Franny” (Kim) Feininger, Laura (Lee) Hutmacher, Margarite “Mugs” Feininger, and Nancy Gunwall, all of Dickinson; daughter-in-law, Karen Feininger; six grandchildren, Mitch (Patty) Feininger, Gretchen (Myron) Falcon, Casey (Jaelyn) Feininger, Kassidy (Jason) Skjervem, Tatianya Hutmacher, and Derrick Gunwall; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret (Jim) Magelky, Bismarck.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete, on October 27, 2009; two sons, Alphonse and Niles; and three siblings, George, Martha, and Mildred.
