Clara Berger, 92, Hebron, died Friday, May 15, 2020 at Marion Manor Healthcare Center, Glen Ullin. There will be an Immediate and Extended Family Mass of Christian Burial for Clara at 10 a.m. CT, Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Hebron with Fr. Kregg Hochhalter as celebrant. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, south of Hebron.
Clara Schaaf was born on May 21, 1927 southwest of Glen Ullin, the daughter of Math and Flora (Emter) Schaaf. She was raised southwest of Glen Ullin and was educated through the eighth grade.
Clara was united in marriage to Jacob Berger on July 27, 1949 in Glen Ullin. To this union four children were born, Charlotte, David, Jack and Larry.
Clara followed Jake as he worked the Railroad for five years. They bought their own farm in 1962. She enjoyed reading, gardening, dancing, cooking, and baking. Family was very important to her.
Clara is survived by her children, Charlotte (Duane) Roller, Belfield, David Berger, Hebron, Jack (Jan) Berger, Hebron, and Larry (Kelli) Berger, Bismarck; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Florence Berger, Dickinson and Ervin Schaaf, Bismarck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob; her parents, eight siblings; and daughter-in-law, Diane Berger.
