Lyle D. Ulmer, 63, formerly of Moorhead, Min., passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, February 11, 2019 at his sister’s home in Dodge, following a struggle with heart disease and COPD. A Gathering of Family & Friends with a time of sharing memories will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Inurnment will follow at the Dickinson Cemetery.
Lyle D. Ulmer was born on August 6, 1955 in Dickinson to Wilbert and Elsie (Sayler) Ulmer. Lyle attended school in Dickinson, worked at Bosch Lumber and in the oil field. He also toured many states while driving semi-trucks for various companies. Lyle enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, visiting and spending time with people.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Erickson, Burnsville, Minn.; two grandchildren, Tristan and Jocelyn, Burnsville; brothers, Dennis (Barb) Ulmer, Randy (Ardis) Ulmer and Gayle Ulmer, all of Dickinson; sisters, Donna (Jere) Detwiler, Scottsdale, Ariz., Dianne (Eugene) Duttenhefer, Dodge, Audrey Cherney, Bismarck and Tammy Ulmer, Valley City; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Ulmer, Reedpoint, Mont. and Lisa Ulmer, Grand Junction, Colo.; brothers-in-law, Kenny Rykowski, Wellington, Colo. and Lynole Heinle, Hebron; and many nieces and nephews.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ronald Ulmer, Gerald Ulmer and Michael Ulmer; and sisters, Connie Rykowski and Raynae Heinle.
