Pauline Berger, 85, Dickinson, died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Pauline’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Dallas Carlson presiding.
Pauline was born June 4, 1933 in Dickinson to Philip and Margaret (Dolecheck) Dukart. She was raised and attended school in Schefield.
She married William “Bill” Berger on October 6, 1956 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. They lived in Richardton for a short time before making their home in Dickinson where they raised their four children, Rodney, Russell, Rhonda and Ryan. She attended St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Dickinson and earned her LPN degree in 1954. She worked for the hospital for 35 years, working nights in pediatrics and the nursery where she gave much love and care to many children. Pauline retired in 1998, and was an active member of the hospital auxiliary.
In her spare time, Pauline loved to crochet. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling, playing cards, cooking and baking goodies to share with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family. Especially her grandkids and later her great-grandbabies.
Pauline was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and St. Ann’s Auxiliary.
Pauline is survived by her children, Rod, Florida, Russ, Rhonda (Pat) Maher, Ryan (Nicole) Berger and beloved daughter-in-law, Shirlene (Jim) Shippen, all of Dickinson; six grandchildren, Nathan, Thayne (Kelsie) and Jayden Maher, Jennifer (Joe) Bagley, Justin (Megan) Berger and Brooklyn Berger; six great-grandchildren, Nicole Wooden, Cameron, Charlee, Carter and Carsyn Maher and Hannah Berger; three brothers, Raymond (Margi) Dukart, Richard (Shirley) Dukart and Tony (Nancy) Dukart; brother-in-law, Tony Decker; sister-in-law, Florence Weinberger; many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 1999; her parents; mother and father-in-law; sister, Irene Decker; sister-in-law, Emily Dukart; brother-in-law, Albert Weinberger; nephew, Tom Weinberger; and five infant grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to St. Benedict’s Health Center or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
