James M. Feller, 67, formerly of Richardton, died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his home in Mesa, Ariz. James’ Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton, with Fr. Thomas Wordekemper, OSB as the celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday.
James Martin Feller was born on June 26, 1951 in Richardton and raised on the family farm the son of Mathew and Rose (Miller) Feller. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1969. He went on to attend Assumption Abbey College where he received his Associates of Liberal Arts Degree. He earned a X-Ray Technology Degree at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck. He worked in Richardton, Hettinger and then moved to Arizona. He lived in Globe, Arizona, but worked at Miami Hospital from 1988 to 1994. He then worked at the U.S. Post Office in Phoenix as a mail processor and express mail clerk until his death. He had also worked as a ramp service clerk at the Sky Harbor Airport.
Jim belonged to the Knights of Columbus and American Society Radio Logic Technologists (ASRT). He enjoyed music, liked string instruments such as guitars, fiddles and banjos. He wrote songs and short stories and collected stamps, coins, guns and books.
Jim is survived by two brothers, Robert A. (Jennifer) Feller, Surrey, David M. (Brenda) Feller, Minot; nephews and nieces, Jason (Colleen) Feller, Jeff (Lynze) Feller, Jeremy (Jade) Feller, Madasyn Feller and Cassandra Feller; three great-nephews; and four great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathew and Rose Feller; great-niece, Gabrielle Rose Feller; grandparents, Anton and Florentine Feller and Martin and Mathilda Miller. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Mary’s Parish or the Assumption Abbey.
