Jon V. Susa, 38, New Hradec, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson. Jon’s Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2018 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Alan Wickstrom officiating. Inurnment will take place at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, New Hradec. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Jonathon V. Susa was born on Super Bowl Sunday, January 27, 1980 at Hettinger, the son of Eugene Susa and Vernetta (Papka) Susa. He was raised in the Amidon area where he attended school thru the 8th grade. He went on to attend high school in New England where he excelled in math and football.
Jon worked in the stockyards at Bowman, and also for a local bee company. He moved to Dickinson where he worked as a mechanic at Terry’s Auto for eight years. During this time his daughter Taylor was born in 2005. He met Alicia Burnett, and they were married on July 7, 2014. Their daughter Harlye was born in 2013. Jon was working at DJ’s Tesoro “Lucky’s” for the past 10 years.
He loved to spend all of his free time with his family, going to the kid’s games and cheering them on. He enjoyed getting together with friends and throwing darts. He was an avid Raiders fan, and you couldn’t go any where without him stopping to talk to someone.
Jon is survived by his wife, Alicia; daughters, Taylor Susa, Dickinson, and Harlye Susa, New Hradec; step-sons, Clayton Schutt and Talon Schutt, New Hradec; father, Gene (Sindy) Susa, Bismarck; mother, Vernetta Susa, Dickinson; and siblings, Vernon Hildreth and Sarah (Brian) Runyan, both of Monroe, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Gertie Susa, Vern and Willie Papka; and his uncle Joe Ginannatti.
