John was an only child born to Nick and Marie (Lefor) Huck on October 17, 1939 in Richardton, later moving to Golden Valley then Dickinson.
John served in the Army National Guard for six years while working at Geck’s Liquor Store in Dickinson. He met Veronica Rebensdorf and they united in marriage on October 15, 1970. Together they decided to buy Geck’s Liquor. They managed and owned the store for several years, but then later decided to sell.
His most recent job was at Walmart where he was a greeter for 10 years and enjoyed giving smiley stickers to the little kids. He was always able to make people laugh with a joke and cheer them up, and playing pranks too. John loved being with family and telling stories of old times.
He was committed to his very loving wife and best friend, Veronica. He had a good Catholic faith, loved his family, and went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Veronica Huck; daughter, Teresa Zastoupil, Bismarck and her children Alex, Gina and Andrea Zastoupil; daughter, Amy (Curt) Frey, Bismarck; his cousin, Shirley (Lefor) Winchel, Missoula, Mont.
John is preceded in death by his parents; and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.
