Beatrice “Bea” (Fedora) Ulmer, 88, Dickinson, died at home on Friday, September 29, 2017 with family at her side. Beatrice’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2017 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding.

Beatrice Franchuk was born May 23, 1929 to John and Mary (Splichal) Franchuk in South Heart. She attended grade school in Zenith and high school in Belfield. She taught school in Billings and Stark Counties. Bea married Ted Fedora on January 2, 1950 and lived in Gorham. In 1959 they moved to Dunn Center, here they ranched, farmed and raised their family. They moved to Dickinson in 1979.

Bea worked as a nurse aid at St. Joseph’s Hospital for many years and later for Community Action Program. She belonged and was very active in the St. Anthony’s Club, German Hungarian Club, Knights of Columbus, Eagles Club, Sunset Senior Center, Taylor Senior Center, RSVP, and St. Wenceslaus Church Altar Society where she was a reader and led the rosary for many years.

Bea married Wilbert “Bert” Ulmer on May 31, 1991. She and Bert loved to travel and spent many years wintering in Arizona. Bea moved to Hawks Point in 2010.

Bea was survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: David Fedora, Wilmington, N.C. and his son Nicholas; Shirley Fedora (Bill Palmer), Homer, Alaska and their son Brennan; Evelyn (Gary) Kadrmas, Dodge and their daughters Kira (Ben) Kowitz and Kari; Mary Fedora (Rick Deming), Rifle, Colo. and their children, Daniel (Lori) Deming (great grandchildren Harmony, Shyila and Ender) and Rachel Deming; Linda Fedora, Fargo and her daughter Jaden; Rita (Allen) Janes, Grand Forks and their sons Nathan, Christopher and Patrick; Roger Fedora, Oak Creek, Colo.; Sharon (Michael) Hagerty, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Monica Fedora (Ken Hammer), Frazee, Minn.; and Jim Fedora, Ft. Collins, Colo. and his children, Jarrod (Brandi, son Christian) Foshee, and Keisha Foshee; her sisters Helen Christianson and Mary Ann Krush; and many nieces and nephews. Bea was preceded in death by her parents; four infant siblings; husbands Ted Fedora and Bert Ulmer; and brothers-in-law Orin Christianson and Paul Krush.

Bea loved to play cards (especially pinochle), bingo and dice. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, cross stitch, dancing, reading and traveling.
