Jerry A. Johnson, 61, Dickinson, died Friday, March 3, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck, with his family at his side. Jerry’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 10, 2017 at St. John Evan. Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Lisa Lewton officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, and will continue on Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Jerry Alan Johnson the third of eight children, was born May 6, 1955 to Wiley and Vivienne (Child) Johnson, at Dickinson. He was raised south of Belfield and attended Belfield High School. Following high school, he started working in the oil field, where he worked on and off until he retired in 2016, after working for Wesco Operating for 22 years.
In 1992, he met the love of his life, Tammy and her three daughters. Together they had a daughter, Katrina in 1998. They were married in May of 2013. While together, they opened the Queen City Club and ran that for 13 years. Shortly after, they opened the Enchanted Hideaway bar in Gladstone, and Braeley Mae’s Café in Dickinson. He has enjoyed for the past five years being a grandpa to his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Tammy; four daughters, Kandice (Jamie) Evenson, Gladstone, Kayla (Rollin Barkman) Goerndt, Dickinson, Kari (Terence) Ross, Dickinson, and Katrina Johnson, Fargo; two step-daughters, Niki (Travis) Whiting, and Jessica (Clark) Kuntz; three brothers, Jack Johnson, South Heart, Larry (Chris) Johnson, Medora, Rory Johnson, Golden Valley; four sisters, Rita Gawryluk, Dickinson, Sheila (Emile Rouleau) Johnson, Somersworth, N.H., Gina Johnson, Somersworth, N.H., Janell (Paul Neprash) Johnson, Killdeer; grandchildren, Braeley Barkman, Dustin Evenson, Kyler Ross, Elizabeth Evenson, Braysen Ross, Harley and Jorie Whiting. He was preceded in death by his parents.
