Paul Krush, 91, Fairfield, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at his home. Paul’s Divine Liturgy will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016 at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Fairfield, with Fr. Yurii Sas as celebrant and assisted by Deacon Leonard Kordonowy. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fairfield. Military honors will be provided by the Belfield American Legion William C. Blair Post 144. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Paul was born May 25, 1925 at Glen Ullin, the son of Fred and Barbara (Jarwoski) Krushevsky. He was raised and educated in the Dickinson area, graduating from Model High in Dickinson. He joined the United States Army on July 15, 1943 and served honorably until his discharge on November 30, 1945. During this time he was involved in the Battle of the Bulge and also at the time of the Japanese surrender.
Following his time in the service he went to Chicago, Ill. to electrician school and work in the steel mills. He had also worked in Washington in the shipyards and with his brother at Krush Iron Works.
Paul began farming with his brother in the early 1950’s, and he loved and was very capable of every bit of the farming, but he would not milk a cow. He was united in marriage to MaryAnn Franchuk on June 3, 1957 at St. Demetrius Church. He was involved in moving St. Demetrius Church.
He belonged to the K.C., American Legion, served on the school board, the Billings County Zoning Board, and with Elder Care. He enjoyed mechanic work, carpentry, tinkering in the shop, woodworking, and building a few Dulcimers.
Paul is survived by his wife, MaryAnn; their seven children, Valerie (Jerry) Aluise, Richardton, Carol Andrews, Tyler, Texas, Mark (Regina) Krush, Orlando, Fla., Steve (Jean) Krush, Sartell, Minn., Ron Krush, Fairfield, Julie (Tim) Schaper, Grassy Butte, and Kristen (Tom) Conner, Edina, Minn.; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ann Anheluk, Belfield; and one brother, George Krushevsky, Belfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and ten siblings, Anton, Alex, Ludwina, Mary, Toni, Helen, Lenora, John, Mike and Peter.
