Gerald “Gerry” Roller, 72, Dickinson, died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home. Gerry’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 7 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2016 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.
Gerald Harvey Roller was born May 31, 1944 at Mayville, the son of Jacob and Margaret (Rech) Roller. He was raised and educated in Dickinson.
Gerry began his career in Minneapolis, Minn., which took him to Atlanta, Ga., where he started a sound design company. He moved back to Dickinson in 1978 where he lived his final years. He was an avid musician, played guitar, sang and played drums for many years. He had played locally with the “Loose Change Band”, enjoying this thoroughly as his favorite pastime. He loved a good story. For over 20 years he worked for Sande Music as an Electronic Technician. He has spent many hours throughout the years recording and listening to music.
Gerry is survived by his mother, Margaret Roller, Dickinson; siblings, Adeline (Steve) Gryskiewicz, Shakopee, Minn., Karen (Ardale) Mittelstadt, Aurora, Colo., Joyce (Rick) Beaudoin, Dickinson, Loretta Conlon, Mandan, Francis (Patty) Roller, Fargo, and Alvin Roller, Ault, Colo.; brother-in-law, Alvin Steffan, Queen Creek, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Mason Roller; his dad, Jacob; and sister, Janice Steffan.
