Diane K. Berger, 57, Hebron, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck. Diane’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. CT, on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Hebron, with Fr. Jeff Zwack as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, south of Hebron. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. CT at the church, with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m. CT, with Deacon Lance Gartner presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Diane Kay Meduna was born January 29, 1959 at Hettinger, the daughter of Arthur and Genevieve (Andreas) Meduna. She was raised and educated in Belfield. Diane was united in marriage to David D. Berger on March 16, 1977 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield.

Diane and David farmed and ranched together throughout their life. She also worked a various jobs, such as; Wagon Wheel Café, Assumption Abbey, doing home daycare, Dakota Dairy Specialties, Hebron Public School, Cenex, and for the past 25 years has been a rural mail carrier (having been named the 2015 ND Outstanding Rural Letter Carrier of the Year).

She found time to serve on and in many capacities with community and church activities, such as; Badlands Quilting Guild, St. Ann’s Christian Mothers, and ND Rural Letter Carriers Union. She loved the country life, and enjoyed reading, crafts, music, gardening, and especially anything that had to do with her family, grandchildren, and family reunions.

Diane is survived by her husband, David; four children, Donna (David) Hogue, Bismarck, Debbie (Tony Schantz) Berger, Glen Ullin, Dale (Christina) Berger, Bismarck, and DeJay Berger, Bismarck; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her dad, Arthur Meduna, Belfield; seven siblings, Katherine Meduna, Fargo, Sheryl Hoodie, Belfield, JoAnn (Kevin) Staub, Bismarck, Linda (Kenny) Johnson, Lakeville, Minn., Karen (Jason Praus) Tormaschy, Dickinson, David (Rita) Meduna, Billings, Mont., and Brian (Kristi Mellmer) Meduna, Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve; and sister, Susan Lynn Meduna.

In lieu of flowers, Diane had requested that memorials be given to the Bismarck Cancer Center.
