Marla F. Hutzenbiler, 56, Belfield, died Friday, July 15, 2016 surrounded by family at her home. Marla’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield, with Fr. Ruelle as the celebrant. Interment will follow at the Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, south of Belfield. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m.

Marla F. Faris was born June 14, 1960 at Bowman, the daughter of Merlin and Marie (Ostoj) Faris. She was raised and educated in the Bowman area, having attended the Cottage Country School in Slope County and then graduating from Bowman High School in 1978.

Marla was united in marriage to Thomas Hutzenbiler on June 14, 1985 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Bowman, and together they made their home south of Belfield where they raised two daughters.

She had worked for Ken’s Red Owl Store in Bowman, drove school bus, and was very active in their farming and ranching operation. She most recently was working as a Para-Professional at the DeMores Elementary School in Medora, a position she truly loved.

She belonged to the St. Bernard’s Parish Council, and was a guild member. She also helped with the public school religious release time. While in high school she was very active in 4-H activities. She loved to work in the garden, growing flowers, shopping, traveling, spending time with her girls and all her family and friends. She had a way of making everyone seem special and was a devoted daughter and daughter-in-law.

Marla is survived by her husband, Tom; their daughters, Ericka Hutzenbiler and Kaycee Hutzenbiler, Belfield; her mother, Marie Faris, Bowman; four siblings, Leon Faris, Littleton, Colo., Marlene (Mike) Kemnitz, El Dorado Hills, Calif., Arlen (Donna) Faris, Orlando, Fla., and Melvin (Sylvia) Faris, Mandan; and numerous special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her dad, Merlin; brother, Gary Faris; sister-in-law, Joanie Faris; and in-laws, Matthias and Martha Hutzenbiler.
