Reuben R. Munsch, 87, Dickinson, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Inurnment will take place at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, New Hradec. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Reuben R. Munsch was born March 14, 1929 at Tuttle, the son of George and Lydia (Lang) Munsch. He attended grade school and high school in Tuttle, graduating from high school in 1948. In the Fall of 1948 he came to Dickinson, answering an ad for country school teachers, and taught school in Willman School District.
Reuben was united in marriage to Clara Karsky on September 18, 1950. For the next seven years he stayed with teaching, then moving into Dickinson where he held various jobs, ending at Coast to Coast Store for 15 years. In 1990, both he and Clara retired. They decided to try out Winters in Arizona. Joining friends who have been south for a few years. This is where he enjoyed playing horseshoes, shuffleboard, and pool. They would stay for six months making many new friends each year.
Reuben is survived by his wife Clara; their two sons, Theodore R. (Connie Baehr) Munsch, Estero, Fla., and Jeffrey J. Munsch, Dickinson; two granddaughters, Sarah and Katie Munsch; sister, Esther Leno, Bismarck; half-brother, Donald Dethloff, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
