Loretta M. Miller, 66, Dickinson, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Marian Manor, Glen Ullin. Loretta’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2015 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Shannon Lucht as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Loretta M. Jirges was born April 1, 1949 at Dickinson, the daughter of William and Otillia (Roller) Jirges. She was raised and educated in the Dickinson area. She was united in marriage to Larry Miller on August 11, 1965 in Dickinson.
She earned an RN degree from Boise State University, Boise, Idaho, and later earned a medical secretary degree from Dickinson State University. Throughout her life she worked in the health care profession, while having lived in Bismarck, Minot, Dickinson and Boise. Loretta had worked for Dr. Fortman in Bismarck, St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson, and Medical Arts Clinic, in Minot.
She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and especially socializing with family and friends.
Loretta is survived by her twin daughters, Brenda (fiance-Todd Powley) Stieg, Oronoco, Minn., and Bonnie (husband-Mark Mason) Benson, Brentwood, Calif.; three grandchildren, Paul and Alec Stieg, and Sierra Benson; three siblings, Rita (Mike) Romines, Lees Summit, Mo., Mary Ann (Jack) Barnhardt, Bismarck, and David Jirges, Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
