Al Frederick, 77, Richardton, died Friday, July 17, 2015 at his home with his family at his side. Al’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Assembly of God Church, Mott, with Rev. David Skjoldal officiating. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be on Monday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Aloys John Frederick was born December 28, 1937 at Richardton, the son of John and Cecilia (Hauck) Frederick. He was raised and educated at Richardton. Al joined the United States Army and served honorably from March 6, 1956 to March 5, 1959.

Al was married and to this union five children were born. He was a top notch mechanic throughout his life. He also during this time drove truck and did custodial work. Al was united in marriage to Dorothy (Biffert) Sage on January 16, 1999 at Dickinson.

He was a member of the Mott Assembly of God Church. He loved auto racing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Al is survived by his wife, Dorothy; five children, Jackie (Kevin) Knight, Richardton, Cindy Anderson, Mohall, Kristie (Scott) Kostad, Lignite, Kevin Frederick, Richardton, and Jeff Frederick, Dickinson; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his mother, Cecilia Frederick, Dickinson; four step-children, Gail Sage, Bismarck, Broch Sage, Bismarck, Tanya (Matthew) Noonan, Bismarck, and Darla Sage, Richardton; three step-grandchildren; siblings, Louise (Andrew) Volesky, Dickinson, Kathy (Richard) Welk, Killdeer, Frank (Celestine) Frederick, Dickinson, Harold (Peggy) Frederick, New River, Ariz., and Gerald (Darlene) Frederick, Richardton; and sister-in-law, Katherine Zeece, Richardton. He was preceded in death by his father, John; and three brothers, Joe, Jake and Kenneth.
