Catherine M. “Cathy” Vokal, 81, Dickinson, died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Health Center, Bismarck. Catherine’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m.
Catherine M. Klemm was born October 4, 1933 at Dickinson, the daughter of Nickolas J. and Katherine (Morel) Klemm, Sr. She was raised and educated in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School in 1952. She lived in Bismarck where she worked for Benson Optical Company.
Cathy married David Vokal on August 4, 1954 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, and three daughters were born to this union. They resided in Baker, Mont., Rhame and Marmarth, prior to settling in Dickinson.
Cathy was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, collecting dolls, going to rumage sales, reading biographies, watching TV (especially Reality shows), and loved cats and collecting cat figurines.
Cathy is survived by her three daughters, Diane Vokal, Bismarck, Cheryl Kasper, Mandan, and Laurie Vokal, Bismarck; two grandchildren, Stacy Kasper and Brad Kasper; her brother, Nick J. Klemm, Jr.; and grand-kitty, Buttercup. She was preceded in death by her parents.
