Norman James Mische was born November 27, 1934 in Hebron, the son of Fred and Pauline (Jaeger) Mische. He grew up on the family farm north of Hebron and attended country school.
He was united in marriage to Charlene Nolte on June 17, 1959 in Hebron. They farmed and ranched north of Hebron, which was the love of his life. Besides farming and ranching, he later purchased semi-trucks and hauled grain to Minnesota and Montana grain terminals from local elevators. He also had a half share in a milk hauling business from local dairy farms to the Hebron Creamery. After a few years, he ended his trucking business and returned back to farming until he retired.
Following retirement, they enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Nevada, where they made many new friendships. He also enjoyed driving cars for the local car dealers in Dickinson during his retirement years. Some of his favorite pastime activities were hunting and fishing, whether it be on the boat or on the bank.
Norman had a great sense of humor, he loved visiting, laughing, having coffee with his coffee buddies, and he loved to dance. He enjoyed being with family and playing cards, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whom of which he was very proud of.
Norman is survived by his wife, Charlene; their two daughters, Tammy (Don) Dorner, Dickinson, and Debbie (Tracy) Rixen, Richardton; four grandchildren, Dusty (Jessie), Lacey, and Dalton Rixen, and Brandon Dorner; and two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Mische and Margaret Nolte, Bismarck. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Pauline; brother, Lou Mische; brother-in-law, Alvin Nolte; and nephew Jeff Mische.
