Mary M. Olheiser, 86, Dickinson, died Friday, February 6, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Mary’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Tuesday with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.
Mary M. Fichter, was born October 12, 1928 near Gladstone, the daughter of John and Eva (Kuntz) Fichter. She was raised and educated near Gladstone.
Mary was united in marriage to George Olheiser, Jr., on May 25, 1948 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Gladstone. They farmed together for a couple of years in the Hirschville area. The family moved to Dickinson where Mary worked at the Elks Club, and later went to work with George at their business, George’s & Sons Tire Shop, until she retired.
Mary and George enjoyed traveling, attending their grandchildren’s activities, visiting their children, and their weekends just driving around. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidery, baking, canning, cooking, crocheting, and most any crafts. Together they were members of the St. Pius Verein.
Mary is survived by her five children, Janet (Ken) Sadowsky, Hot Springs, S.D., Larry (Julie) Olheiser, Dickinson, Rita (Kevin) Burwick, Dickinson, Karen (fiance-Charles Johnson) Olheiser, Parker, Colo., and Kim (Shelly) Olheiser, Dickinson; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Theresa Hipsak; brothers, Anton (Appolonia) Fichter, Henry (Terri) Fichter, Richard (Dorothy) Fichter, and Leo Fichter; son-in-law, Del Quigley; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on May 3, 2010; her parents; step-mother; daughter, Judy Quigley; brother, Willie; sister, Agnes; brother-in-law, Nick Hipsak; and sister-in-law, Pauline Fichter.
