Virginia G. Goyne, 83, Dickinson, died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at St. Benedicts Health Center, Dickinson. There was a private family Liturgy of the Word service with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding at Ladbury Funeral Service, and interment in Dickinson Cemetery on October 18, 2014.
Virginia Veverka was born in Dickinson on December 30, 1930 to Frank and Mary (Polensky) Veverka. She attended school in Dickinson and graduated from Dickinson High School. Virginia married Sid Goyne on January 6, 1951 and to this union five children were born. Over the years she lived in Williston, Kalispel, Mont., and Mandan before moving back to Dickinson.
Virginia worked at grocery stores, clothing stores, and in housekeeping while raising her children. She was known for her huckleberry pie and Christmas cookies. One of her favorite past times was watching and feeding squirrels and birds. She had a strong love for animals of any kind. When she was younger she enjoyed riding horse. She always had a pet cat or two. Other pastimes include: coloring with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, painting, and drawing. She loved gardening and flowers, especially rose bushes and irises.
Virginia is survived by her children; Doug (Karen), Annette (Steve) Lesmeister, Clayton, Kevin, and Jeff (Rochelle); seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Ellen Veverka and one infant brother, Wendelin Veverka.
