Diane B. Heidecker, 66, Dickinson, died Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Diane’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Ron Keller presiding.
Diane Barbara Roll was born December 19, 1947, the daughter of Frank and Anna M. (Meier) Roll. In 1958 the family moved to Dickinson, where she attended St. Wenceslaus Grade School, and graduated from Trinity High School in 1966. She went on to attend Business College in Rapid City, S.D.
While in Rapid City, Diane met Dean Burns, and they were united in marriage on October 14, 1967, and to this union two children, Rodney and Deanne, were born. They made their home in Stockport, Iowa, where they owned and operated Captain Clean. In 1995 Diane moved back to Dickinson and went to work for Dickinson Tire and spent the next 15 years with them. On May 27, 2000, she and Clayton Heidecker were married at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
She enjoyed playing cards, working on crossword and jigsaw puzzles, dancing, country music, crocheting, and watching TV.
Diane is survived by her husband, Clayton; son, Rodney (Jennifer) Burns, Iowa; daughter, Deanne (Sean) Doherty, Illinois; five grandchildren, Carter, Megan and Nathan Burns, Molly and Emily Doherty; her mother, Anna M. Roll, Dickinson; siblings, Janice (Bruce) Evans, Bismarck, Tom (Judy) Roll, Richardton, Beatrice Mueller, Bismarck, Shaun (Karla) Roll, Colorado, and Judy (Monty) Meduna, Colorado; step-daughter, Barb Lamb, Missouri; five step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and her father, Frank Roll.
