Rose Kitzan, 84, Richardton, died Thursday, September 4, 2014, at the Richardton Health Center, Richardton. Rose’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m., Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton, with Fr. Boniface Muggli, OSB as the celebrant. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary & vigil at 4 p.m., with Abbot Brian Wangler, OSB presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Rose Olheiser was born May 30, 1930, at Schefield, the daughter of George and Beata (Heidt) Olheiser. She was raised and educated in the Schefield area. She worked as a cook at St. Benedict’s Nursing Home in Dickinson.
Rose was united in marriage to Clarence Kitzan on December 27, 1958 in Dickinson. They moved to a farm southeast of Richardton where they farmed and raised their two sons. In 1998 they retired and moved into Richardton, where she volunteered as a cooks helper for several years at the Senior Citizens Center. Her husband Clarence died on June 19, 2004. She loved taking care of her granddaughters.
Rose is survived by her sons, Cary (Jacque) Kitzan, Richardton, and Perry (Kristi) Kitzan, Williston; four grandchildren, KayLee Kitzan, Whitney Kitzan, Hannah Kitzan, Victoria-Rose Kitzan; two great-grandchildren, KeAna and Bentley Hendrickson; her siblings, Leona Reisenauer, Barbara Weiler, Cecilia (Don) Samson, Genevieve (Doug) Frisbee, Beatrice (Tony) Schwindt, and Agnes Olheiser; sisters-in-law, Mary Olheiser, Alice Olheiser and Martha Olheiser; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents; brothers, Joe, Ralph, Christ, Tony, Al, and George; and sisters, Tilley and Ida.
