Gary Clinton Rierson, 61, Dickinson, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Gary’s funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2014 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding. Interment will take place in the Spring at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Gary Clinton Rierson was born October 1, 1952 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Clinton and Alice (Goldade) Rierson. The family moved to Gladstone, where he was raised and educated. He had also attended Dickinson High School.
When he turned 18, he left for Wyoming to look for work. Gary returned to Dickinson in 1985, and when a job offer in Minnesota came up he moved there. He remained there until 2000, at which time he returned to Dickinson to stay. Throughout his life, Gary has dealt with health issues.
He liked to go fishing, making things out of wood, watching TV, and especially spending time with family and friends. He always had a gift of making people laugh.
Gary is survived by his parents, Clinton (Mavis) Rierson, Rugby, and Alice Rierson, Dickinson; three siblings, Judy Harrington, Dickinson, Cynthia (Charles) Tully, Rapid City, S.D., and David Rierson, Wichita Falls, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; an infant daughter, Kimberly Rierson; an infant great-niece, Jocelyn Harrington; brother-in-law, James Harrington; and several aunts, uncles, and great-aunts and uncles.
