James Alan Hawronsky, 61, Dickinson, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at his home. Jim’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, November 1, 2013 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Ron Hodson officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Grassy Butte Community Cemetery, north of Grassy Butte. Visitation will be on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and will continue on Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.

James Alan Hawronsky was born in Williston on November 7, 1951 the son of John and Louise (Thomas) Hawronsky. He was raised on a farm north of Grassy Butte and attended grade school in Grassy Butte and graduated from Watford City High School in 1969. After high school he worked as a seismographer for several years.

He settled in Bloomington, Minn., where he worked as a caretaker in home health for many years. He became very close to his clients. He also painted houses during this time.

Jim volunteered in soup kitchens and various charities. He enjoyed sharing the gospel with the people he met. Jim moved back to Dickinson in 2011 to be closer to family. His hobbies included being out in the great outdoors, exercising, and cars. He had a unique sense of humor and will be missed by his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Kristi; his mother, Louise (John J.) Dutchuk, Dickinson; three brothers, John (Shasha) Hawronsky, Las Vegas, Nev., Steve (Cindy) Hawronsky, Bismarck, and Mike Hawronsky, Portland, Ore.; five sisters, Rosemary (Darrel) Smebakken, Dickinson, Ann Marie (David) Sims, Dickinson, Vicki (Denny) Brimer, Ft. Rice, Pat (Ron) Heiser, Grassy Butte, and Julie (friend-Bob Coleman) Grotte, Watford City; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Hawronsky.
