Henry was born June 4, 1915 at Dickinson, the son of Matt and Anna (Hasken) Regeth. Henry was the youngest of six children. He grew up on the family farm near Libby Butte and attended a rural country school. His parents passed away while he was quite young and Henry started working for other farmers and ranchers.
Henry was united in marriage to Marcella Voss on August 31, 1936. In 1937 Henry and Marcella purchased a small farm south of Manning from Henry’s brother Frank and was able to add more land as time went on. Seven children were born to Henry and Marcella. He was a farmer and rancher all his life, having cared for the land and his livestock. Horses were a big part of Henry’s life from riding to working with them. He always had a faithful dog as a companion on the farm. Making sure the wild animals and birds had shelter and feed was important to him.
Henry was a member of the Killdeer Equity Elevator Board for 15 years, was a member of the Manning School Board for several years and also was secretary for the Farmers Union Manning Local. Henry and Marcella enjoyed traveling in their later years. They were members of the Good Sam Club, enjoyed going to the Horse-Fest and threshing bees.
