Terry W. Metcalf, 52, Dickinson, died Monday, August 6, 2012 as the result of injuries sustained in an oil field accident. Terry’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Pastor James Hessler officiating. Interment will follow at the Sentinel Butte Cemetery, Sentinel Butte. Visitation will be on Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to service time at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Terry W. Metcalf was born July 12, 1960, in Glendive, Mont., the son of Wayne and Barbara (Cornell) Metcalf. He was raised and educated in Wibaux, Mont., Sentinel Butte, and Beach where he graduated from Beach High School in 1978.
He went to work in the oil fields following graduation, starting with the drilling rigs, and eventually working on work over rigs, with the past 12 years at Big Sky Well Service. He has made Dickinson his home for the past 13 years.
In his spare time he enjoyed target practice shooting, exercising, reading, and going for drives.
Terry is survived by his mom and step-dad, Barbara and Bruce Allen, Dickinson; brother, Perry Metcalf, Dickinson; and two uncles, Paul Cornell and Jim Allen. He was preceded in death by his dad, Wayne Metcalf; his grandparents; and an aunt, Chris Cornell.
