Mary E. Wright, 79, Belfield, died Monday, June 25, 2012 at MedCenter One, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 5, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Medora. Interment will follow at Medora Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mary Elizabeth Ray was born March 20, 1933 at Medora, the daughter of Donald and Viola (Neuens) Ray. She was raised and educated in Medora.
Mary married Dean Martin Wright on November 1, 1958 in Iowa. They resided in St. Paul, Minn., where she was a valued employee of the Archdiocese of St. Paul for 18 years. Upon her retirement in 2004, they returned to her beloved Badlands, residing in Belfield.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many and will be deeply missed. Mary is survived by her husband, Dean; three daughters, Julie (Joe) Gebhart, St. Paul, Minn., Patty Peterson, Maplewood, Minn., and Linda Wright, Shoreview, Minn.; three grandchildren, Maggie Peterson, Michael Gebhart, and Rebecca Gebhart; one sister, Arlene McCutchan, Maple Valley, Wash.; and her Aunt Marjorie Gratton, Sentinel Butte. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael; her parents; sister, Eleanor Hepsak; and brother, Leo Ray.
Memorials are preferred to the Ronald McDonald House charities.
