Grandon Lee Schneider, 36, Killdeer, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 near his home as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Interment will follow at the Grassy Butte Cemetery, with Rev. L. Jay Reinke officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Grandon was born January 18, 1976 in Billings, Mont., the son of Greg and Renae (Kostelnak) Schneider. He was raised and educated in Killdeer, graduating from Killdeer High School in 1994. He then attended a year at BSC in Bismarck.

He began a career working in the oil fields as a roustabout, and then created his own business doing road and site construction and also continuing with some roustabout work. He also continued to help his dad with the farming and ranching operation.

Grandon was united in marriage to Dawn Fox on September 23, 2000 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Dickinson. They have made their home west of Killdeer. He loved spending time with family and friends, the sport of drag racing, playing cards, fishing, the mountains and all outdoor activities. Playing golf, working in the yard, riding the 4-wheeler and motorcycle, and driving his Mustang were all pastimes of his. Grandon was committed to making sure his family was taken care of, and spending time with Dawson playing catch. He was very generous and would lend a helping hand when ever he could, and of course he was an avid Denver Broncos fan.

Grandon is survived by his wife, Dawn; his son, Dawson; his parents, Greg and Renae Schneider, Killdeer; his sister, Raelene Schneider, Fayetteville, Ark.; Grandpa Robert Kostelnak, Dickinson; Grandma Lorraine Schneider, Dickinson; several cherished aunts, uncles and cousins; and many wonderful in-laws. He was preceded in death by his Grandma Florence Kostelnak and Grandpa Rueben Schneider.
