Lucinda B. “Lucy” Frank, 59, New England, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Lucy’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New England, with Fr. Patrick Moore, OSB as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue at the church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Victor Dvorak presiding. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
Lucinda Rustan was born June 22, 1952 in Dickinson, the daughter of Bernhard and Lizeta (Culver) Rustan. She was raised and educated in New England, having graduated from New England High School in 1970. She went on to attend college in Denver, Colo.
Lucy married David C. Frank on December 22, 1970 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They lived in Oklahoma and Texas while Dave served in the military. Returning to New England, she went to work for the New England Drug from 1973 to 1984. She then ran Lucy’s Day Care from 1985 to 1997, and then went to work at Wal-Mart in Dickinson and was working for them at the time of her death.
Lucy enjoyed decorating cakes, crocheting, belonging to the hobby club, doing catering jobs, cooking, reading, playing cards (esp. Hand & Foot), and attending quilting retreats.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 40 years, David; their three children, Jennifer (Chris) Liden, Thief River Falls, Minn., Jarad Frank, Glendive, Mont., and Mark Frank, New England; one grandson, Liam Liden; three siblings, Vernon (Mary Lou) Rustan, Brigham City, Utah, Joyce (Steven Fults) Stueck, Chikio, Minn., and Ivan Rustan, Bismarck; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
