Jacob Barth, 19, Dickinson, died with his white lab Rudy on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident near Lusk, Wyo. There will be a memorial service for Jacob at 2 p.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Jim Preston officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Monday.
Jacob Alexander Barth was born October 2, 1991 in San Luis Obispo, Calif., the son of Troy Hodson and Angela Corbett. Following his mothers marriage to Jim Barth, Jacob was adopted by Jim. The Barth family lived in Colorado prior to moving to Elgin, and eventually to Dickinson in 2006, where Jacob completed his education at Dickinson High School.
He went to work in the oil fields but his goal was to work on the police force. To gain experience Jacob traveled to Greeley, Colo., to check out a position with the Colorado State Correctional Facility.
Jacob enjoyed playing the guitar, loved animals, playing video games and just hanging out with his friends.
Jacob will be dearly missed by those who survive him, which include his parents, Jim and Angela; his grandparents, Rosalie Barth, Dickinson, John Betz, Evans, Colo., Ken Corbett, Green Valley, Ariz., and Carol Hodson, San Luis Obispo; his aunts and uncles, Hollie (Bryan) Wilson, Denver, Colo., Donna (Steve) Hintz, Mandan, and Dennis (Sheila) Barth, Kennewick, Wash.; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Robert Barth and Grandma Linda Preston.
