Ann Sivak, 92, formerly of Belfield, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Triumph Hospital, Mandan. Ann’s funeral service will be at 12 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Fr. Shannon Lucht presiding. Interment will take place at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Belfield. Visitation will be on Monday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.
Ann Twardoski was born March 6, 1919, near Gorham, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Gawryluk) Twardoski. She lived on the family farm until her marriage to John Sivak in 1937.
Ann and John lived in Belfield where she did custodial work for Schneider Chevrolet. Her husband, John died on September 9, 1980. She continued to live in Belfield until July of 2010, when she became a resident of St. Benedict’s Health Center. Ann enjoyed gardening, canning her own fruit and vegetables, embroidery, and keeping up with current events.
Ann is survived by seven sisters, Katherine Hlibichuk, Belfield, Sophie McCrosky, Stonewall, La., Joyce (Bob) Ganson, Pasco, Wash., Pauline Tillman, Camas, Wash., Mary Reiner, Bismarck, Regina (Frank J.) Morel, Gladstone, and Betty (Walter) Dutchuk, Bismarck; one brother, Emil (Rosalie) Twardoski, Beach; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Joseph and Mary Twardoski; two brothers, Mike and Pete Twardoski; and one sister, Rose Tooley.
