Grace I. Wetzel, 82, Dickinson, died Friday, October 22, 2010 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Grace’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Jim Braaten as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Monday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Deacon Bob Zent presiding.
Grace I. Ridl was born April 13, 1928 in Dickinson, the daughter of Anton and Eleanor (Samek) Ridl. She was raised and educated in Dickinson, having graduated from Model High School.
Grace married George Svihl in 1947 in Dickinson. She later married Rudolph Wetzel in 1989. Grace has lived in the Dickinson area both in Dunn County and Stark County her entire life. She enjoyed volunteering at the Arc-Aid, reading recipe books, and crocheting.
Grace is survived by her three children, Sherry (Duane) Urlacher, Taylor, Scott (Carlene) Svihl, Casa Grande, Ariz., and Sandy (Jeff) Score, Fargo; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; one brother, Raymond Ridl, Dickinson; and one sister-in-law, Sadie Ridl, Dunn Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rudolph Wetzel; three brothers, Clarence, Anton, Jr., and Eugene; and one sister-in-law, Regina Ridl.
