Thomas M. Samson, 93, Richardton, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Richardton Health Center. Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas will be at 10 a.m., Friday, October 15, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with a rosary at 8 p.m.
Thomas M. Samson was born June 1, 1917 near Werner, the son of Ferdinand and Emelia (Fischer) Samson. He was raised and educated in the Werner area and helped farm the family farm.
Tom married Evelyn Commes on January 29, 1952 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Halliday. Together they farmed south of Halliday until 1976 when they moved into Richardton. Tom was in charge of the towns landfill and garbage project, and he continued to work there well into his 80’s.
Tom enjoyed tinkering and working on projects. He loved spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his grandson, Shaun Samson, Bismarck; two great-grandchildren, Makya Samson and Aliyah Samson; and his step-grandson, Dereck Ehrmantrout, Dickinson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn on July 3, 2006; his son, Jeffrey Samson on July 15, 2009; his parents; three sisters; one brother; and an infant sister.
