Violet Lenora Dobler, 82, Dickinson, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Violet’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Evangelical Bible Church, Dickinson, with Pastor Tim Privratsky officiating. Interment will take place the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 11 a.m., Central. Visitation will be on Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Violet was born September 20, 1928 and grew up in the Ashley area. She was the daughter of Gottlieb and Friedericka (Martz) Speidel, the third youngest of four children. Violet graduated from Ashley High School in 1946. She married Arthur Dobler on October 10, 1946. They lived in Ashley until 1957, when they moved to Dickinson.

Violet worked at various occupations, but the majority of her career was spent as a bank teller at Liberty National and Community First.

Violet enjoyed many hobbies, including cross stitching, sewing, reading, and fishing. Violet and Art had a lake place on Lake Sakakawea for many years. They loved spending time there, sharing it with family. Family always came first in her heart. Violet loved to travel and enjoyed seeing various sights on trips to Arizona, Mexico and California.

Violet is survived by three daughters and two sons, Jeanie (Gary Gonzales) Albright, Phoenix, Ariz., Gwendy (Jerry) Jordan, Dickinson, Cathy (Mike) Pyle, Grand Forks, Jay (Debbie) Dobler, Bismarck and Joel (Annette) Dobler, Glendale, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marion (Dwaine) Bertsch, Leola, S.D.; three sisters-in-law, Emma Speidel and Olga Sackmann, Ashley, and Emma Lukey, Marysville, Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Art on November 6, 2006, her parents, and two brothers, Hugo and Herbert. Violet touched the hearts of many people who knew her. She will be truly missed by her family who loved her dearly.
