Ricky R. Szathmary, 24, Dickinson, died at his home on Friday, July 16, 2010. Ricky’s funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Michael Wolters officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.
Ricky R. Szathmary was born November 26, 1985 in Brainerd, Minn., the son of Laszlo J. and Bonnie (Rohde) Szathmary. He was raised and educated in Dickinson, having graduated from Southwest Alternative School. Ricky worked at various jobs throughout his life, and also had attended the University of Mary for one year.
Ricky enjoyed listening to music, reading, conditioning and working out, and was also very photogenic. His greatest joy came from spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Ricky is survived by his parents, Lance and Darcy Szathmary, Wadena, Minn., and Bonnie and Stan Heidecker, Dickinson; his grandparents, Mardella Rohde, Dickinson, and Laszlo and Gail Szathmary, Deer Creek, Minn.; his sister, Candice (Jacob Siegler) Szathmary, Dickinson; his brothers, Richie (Becky Klein) Szathmary, Dickinson, and Patchrick Szathmary, Wadena, Minn.; his nieces and nephews, Ariana Taraba, Zara Szathmary, Aidan Szathmary and Gracie Klein; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Harley Rohde; and his uncle, Dennis Rohde.
