Ann Tessier, 88, Belfield, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Ann’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield, with Fr. Shannon Lucht as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, and will continue at the church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Tuesday at the church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Ann Kytoichuk was born January 1, 1922, in Belfield, the daughter of Joseph and Polly (Czop) Kytoichuk. She was raised and educated in Belfield.

Ann married Francis E. Tessier on January 2, 1940 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield. They moved to Spokane, Wash., where Francis worked in the shipyards for a period of two years. Ann and Francis returned to Belfield and have made this their home since. Ann waitressed for a period of time, and also cleaned St. Bernard’s school while Francis was the janitor. For 37 years Ann also sorted the mail to help out Francis on his mail route.

Ann enjoyed visiting with family and friends and also going out for a cup of coffee. She loved to Square Dance and dance, and spending time with others. Family was important to her and she cherished her time babysitting the grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her three daughters, Denise (Ray W.) Nay, Grand Forks, Danelle (Allan) Bren, Dickinson, and Diane (Lyle) Tift, Belfield; five grandchildren, Jessica (Derek) Sporbert, Casey (Mandi) Nay, Brandon (Val) Tift, Brandy (Klint) Penn and Brittney Tift; eight great-grandchildren, Kylie and Kaleb Nay, Tyson and Hailey Sporbert, Bransyn Tift, Brady Gjefle, Sawyer and Austin Sofia Penn; one sister, Polly Dorval, Dickinson; and two brothers, Casmir and Joseph Kytoichuk, Belfield. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 12, 2003, her parents; an infant daughter, Geraldine; infant brother, Peter; and an infant sister, Berta.
