Doris R. Griggs, 78, Dickinson, died Friday, May 7, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Funeral services for Doris will be at 10 a.m., Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dickinson, with President G. Knude Swensen officiating. Interment will follow at the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Doris Rose Griggs was born September 14, 1931 in Dunn County of North Dakota, the daughter of Edwin P. and Mae R. (Blundt) Griggs. She was raised and educated in the Dunn County area. She was a ranch women her entire life, mostly in North Dakota but she did spend 15 years in Idaho and Wyoming working on various ranches. Doris had attended barber college where she earned her barbers certificate. She worked as a barber in California for a period of 10 years.

Doris enjoyed hunting, riding a Harley Davidson, traveling to different national forests, especially the Tetons.

Doris is survived by her sister, Ruth Boespflug, Dickinson; three sisters-in-law, Betty, Carol and Nancy; many nieces and nephews; and the rest of you “potlickers”. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; five brothers, Jim, John, Henry, Oscar and Clifford; one sister, Mary; and an infant sister, Lois.
