Margaret, daughter of John and Emillie (Zollner) Jung was born on September 17, 1915 on the family farm south of New England. She attended Strehlow School #2, a mile from their family home for grades one through eight. She spent her young years helping with many chores on the farm.

On October 16, 1940, Margaret married George C. Braun at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New England and farmed most of their life in that area.

Margaret had a special talent for baking great German pastries and dishes which family and friends enjoyed immensely. In honor of Margaret’s great love for baking and cooking, her granddaughter, Rebecca (Sorenson) Fischer compiled a family cookbook with hundreds of favorite family recipes to be treasured by all.

Margaret had many hobbies but her favorites were gardening, canning her produce, and yard work. She was an avid reader, and in the past several years listened to hundreds of talking books. She was always ready to play a good card game with family and grandkids. She and George spent many hours together attending auction sales.

Her greatest love was always family. They were blessed with five children, their spouses, 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren and they were the delight of her life. Her children are; Ellen (Nick) Lenhardt, Dianne (Ron) Sorenson, Eileen (Larry) Lechler, Bunny (Dorlyn) Held all of New England, and son Larry (Valerie) Braun, Milbank, S.D. Her grandchildren are; Penny (Curt) Tooley, Bismarck, Rachelle (Keane) Hanson, Rebecca (Jeremy) Fischer, Reid (Jessica) Sorenson all of New England, Rauna (Eddie) Maychrzak, Scranton, Lori (Randy) Fitterer, Amy (Rob) Rayhorn, New England, Jill Lechler, Dickinson, Stuart Lechler (deceased), Kelly Braun, Moab, Utah, Christi (Richard) Schultz, Grand Forks, Melissa (Pat) Rummel, Belfield, Jennifer (Collis) Stanley, England; great-grandchildren: Tahya and Tennille Tooley, Kaine and Gabrielle Hanson, Denit, Gabe, and Sebella Sorenson, Ace Fischer, Garrett and Gavin Fitterer, Braden, Molly, and Maddie Rayhorn, George Christian and Jenna Braun, twins, Natalie and Noah Schultz and Grant Miller, Belfield, and special friend, Mary Kuefler, Good Samaritan Home, Mott.

Also, “Thanks” for the absolute support our family received from the staff who made Mom’s last hours much easier for all of us.
