Roland C. Hoselton, 85, Dickinson died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Roland’s funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2009 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Rev. Noel T. Vold officiating. Interment will take place at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D. Military honors will be provided by the Dickinson Honors Team following the service. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Roland Charles Hoselton was born December 14, 1923 on the family farm at Drayton, the son of Wheeler Hayes and Edna (Devlin) Hoselton. He was raised and educated in Drayton while helping out on the farm and also helping the neighbors with their farming.

Roland joined the Marine Corps on December 18, 1943 and served honorably while being stationed in Guam and being discharged on March 22, 1946. Roland returned to North Dakota and went to work.

Roland married Anna Jeanne Etcheverry on April 1, 1950 in Pembina County. He worked as a parts man, bookkeeper, setup man and delivery man for the implement business for 40 years, retiring in 1991. Roland and Jeanne moved to and made Dickinson their home in the early 1990’s.

Roland in his spare time enjoyed volunteer work, helping at the Museum Machinery building, playing cards, especially pinochle, and had also served on the Drayton volunteer fire department.

Roland is survived by his wife, Jeanne; their five children, David (Blanche) Hoselton, Sterling, Colo., Lori (Robert) Faulhaber, Dickinson, Louise Hoselton, Dickinson, Loretta (Wayne) Aaland, Aurora, Colo., and Norman (Lanette) Hoselton, Fargo; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his twin brother, Sharland (AnnaMae) Hoselton, Drayton; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hoselton, Drayton; and several special nieces and nephews. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, five brothers, and two infant sisters.
