Lynda Jean Bjorndal was born in Estevan, Sask. on December 10, 1948 to parents Olaf and Edna (Howitt) Bjorndal. She was the fourth of six children raised on the family farm near Bromhead, Sask. La Que Parle Country School, Westview Elementary School and Estevan Collegiate Institute were the schools in which Lynda obtained her education.
It was March 20, 1971 that Lynda married the love of her life, Brian Jennings. Together, the two of them built a life in Estevan raising two daughters, Tania and Tracey. As a family they loved to travel and spend time with extended family and with numerous friends. In 1994, Lynda’s first grandchild was born. Tanielle brought so much sunshine into Lynda’s life. Four years later Cole blessed her life. Ian and Jett were soon to follow. Lynda was the most awesome grandma, she loved her grandchildren with all her heart. She spent many hours attending school programs and track days, cheering at hockey games, playing with play dough, picnicking in Medora, and squeezing and kissing cheeks. Last January, Lynda fulfilled her dream of taking her grandkids to Mickey’s Castle in Florida. Many cherished memories were made.
In 1998 Lynda and Brian made Dickinson their home. Though Lynda has formed many friendships here in Dickinson, she continued to cherish her friendships back home in Estevan. She was a friend of the Red Hat Society Ladies and looked forward to the group’s many adventures.
Lynda loved playing in her flowerbeds making everything look as beautiful as she was. One more pot was always welcomed to her deck. Another passion of Lynda’s was playing hostess. She loved entertaining friends and family who would travel from Estevan to spend time with them in their home. She spent countless hours cooking and baking, making sure no one left hungry.
Lynda was an active member of the United Methodist Church, she loved preparing funeral lunches, teaching Sunday School, helping with vacation bible school and attending bible study. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. Lynda truly loved Jesus Christ, living every day of her life praising and worshipping Him to the fullest. Today, Lynda is at peace in the arms of the Lord in His beautiful Kingdom of Heaven.
