Adalina “Della” Hibl, 82, formerly of Dickinson died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Minneota Manor in Minneota, Minn.. Della’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2008 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary and vigil at 8 p.m..

Della was born on June 18, 1926 as one of ten children to Peter and Rose (Saetz) Dvorak, in Dunn County of North Dakota. She was raised on a farm in the same area and received an 8th grade education. Growing up she frequently did chores on the farm helping her parents as much as possible. She also became a waitress for the Ray Hotel Restaurant and it was while working here that she met the love of her life.

Della married Charles John Hibl on April 10, 1947 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. They moved to a farm north of South Heart, where they worked the land and built their life until retiring in 1982 and moving to Dickinson. Della went to work for Superior Cleaners and later cleaned homes for various ladies in Dickinson. In her later years she ironed clothes for families and did so all the way up to 2007. On February 24, 2002 her beloved Charles passed away. She continued on with the love and support of her sons, daughter-in-law and her grandsons.

Della and Charles were married for 10 years when they adopted Don and with Don’s persistence of “when am I going to get a little brother”, they adopted Jerry 13 years later. With their family complete, Della was an excellent cook and baker. She would get up at 4:30 a.m. to help milk cows, make breakfast, clean house, help with chores, make dinner, do more chores, milk cows, make supper, do gardening and canning, finally around 9 to 10:30 p.m. call it a day. Della was very active in their farming and where ever her husband was she would be right next to him doing field work or fixing equipment.

In May 2008, Della moved to the Minneota Manor, Minneota, Minn., to be closer to her grandsons and to attend her grandson Kendall’s wedding on June 7 in Marshall, Minn.. She fortunately got to fulfill her wish of seeing the wedding and the joy of her family before her passing. Della passed away peacefully on a beautiful sunny day with the love of her family surrounding her. Blessed be her memory.

Della is survived by two sons, Jerry Hibl, Dickinson, and Donald (Sharon) Hibl, Marshall; two grandsons, Jeremy Hibl, and Kendall (Adrian) Hibl, Marshall; five siblings, Emma (Stanley) Dvorak, Dickinson, Minnie (Pete) Lefor, Dickinson, Agnes (Tony) Stockert, Dickinson, Edward (Margaret) Dvorak, Dickinson, and David (Darlene) Dvorak, Manning; sisters-in-law, Martha Dvorak, Dunn Center, and Patsy Decker, Belfield; brothers-in-law, Anthony “Tony” Hibl, Wisc., and Albert (Margaret) Hibl, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
