Jacob Weiler, 91, Dickinson, ND, died Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Jacob’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Jim Braaten as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Veterans Drill Team. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a St. Pius Verein Rosary followed by a vigil at 7 P.M., Tuesday with Deacon Ray Jilek presiding at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Jacob F. Weiler was born March 1, 1916 at Schefield, ND, the son of Frank D. and Katherine (Urlacher) Weiler. He was raised and educated in the Schefield area, having attended St. Pius School. Jacob served in the United States Army from February 20, 1942 to his Honorable Discharge on March 27, 1946.

Jacob married Elizabeth Mosbrucker on October 25, 1948 at St. Placidus Catholic Church, Mott, ND. Together they farmed south of Schefield until moving into Dickinson in 1986. Elizabeth died on November 17, 1989. Jacob remained at home until 2006, when he became a resident of the Country House.

Jacob enjoyed listening to music, playing Pinochle and making a trip to Hardee’s. He belonged to the St. Pius Verein and the VFW.

Jacob is survived by one sister, Eva Hirsch, LaPine, OR; one brother, Henry (Agnes) Weiler, Dickinson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special care giver, Wendy Sundheim. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one sister and nine brothers.
