Mary C. Rodakowski, 78, Gladstone, ND, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at MedCenter One, Bismarck. The Divine Liturgy for Mary will be at 10 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Belfield, ND with Father Taras Miles as celebrant, interment will follow at St. Josaphat’s Cemetery, Gorham, ND. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Ladbury Funeral Service, and will continue at the church on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to service time Monday. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. Saturday at Ladbury Funeral Service, and a Parastas at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Mary C. Maslowski was born on the family farm in Billings County, ND to Nick and Hattie (Rychkun) Maslowski on January 7, 1929. Mary attended country grade school and graduated from Belfield High School. After high school Mary began a 20 year teaching career, 16 of which were in Billings County, and during this time she attended Dickinson State Teachers College.

Mary married Casimer Rodakowski on June 24, 1948 at St. John’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Belfield She and Casimer farmed north of Belfield for 49 years until retiring and moving to Gladstone, ND in 1995. Mary served on St. Mary’s Society, church committees, the church choir, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, pysanka (Easter eggs), gardening, and playing cards with her special friend Martha. But her most enjoyment came in spending time with her family and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who always made her smile.

Mary is survived by two daughters, June (Eugene) Binstock, South Heart, ND and Michaele (Dennis) Binstock, Dickinson; one daughter-in-law, Carla Rodakowski, Gladstone; one brother, Carl Maslowski, Wilton, ND; one sister, Elizabeth Dutchuk, Belfield; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Casimer, one son, Tim and one brother, Joe.
