Anna “Ann” Gregory Nordahl, 90, formerly of Halliday, ND, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Ann’s funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Halliday with Rev. Aanen Gjovik officiating. Interment will follow at the Halliday Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Anna Gregory was born June 14, 1916 to George and Katie (Krivoruchka) Gregory. Her parents homesteaded in the Fairfield community where she attended grade school. Her mother died when Ann was 15; Ann assumed the household responsibilities and helped care for her younger sisters and brothers. She also worked outside the home for neighbors.
August 3, 1944 Ann married Erling Nordahl. They lived on his family farm south of Halliday where they farmed and ranched. Erling passed away in December of 1999, she continued living on the farm until she entered the Evergreen in Dickinson in 2001. She remained in her apartment until October of 2006 when her health began failing. She then entered St. Benedict’s Health Center.
Ann is survived by her brother, Tony (Helen) Gregory, Lemmon, SD; sister, Betty (Cal) Drumm, Davenport, IA; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Nick (Josephine) Gregory, Fairfield, and Mrs. John (Ethel) Gregory, Vancouver, WA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erling, her parents, two brothers, John and Nick, four sisters, Mary Logosz, Lena Petryszak, Jenny Gerhart and Olga Palahniuk. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Halliday or to the donor’s choice in memory of Ann.
