Eleanor Fitterer was born on May 17, 1929 on the family farm northwest of New England, the daughter of Aloysius and Mary (Boespflug) Fitterer. She was raised and educated in the New England area where she attended country school and St. Mary’s School in New England.

She began working in Dickinson at Greene Drug and after achieving her CNA license. She then went on to work at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a CNA and housekeeper, and eventually retired in 1994.

Eleanor enjoyed shopping, bingo, and visiting with people.  She had a keen sense of fashion, always looking prim and proper at all times. She therefore collected stacks of cardigans from her favorite store, Christopher & Banks. Eleanor enjoyed lunch outings, and her first choice was usually a McDonalds meal. Eleanor’s strong faith was important to her, and she had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters and would help out at the KC Club as a waitress.

Eleanor is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Bosch; sisters-in-law, Irene, Lorraine (Reinhardt), Ruth, Rose and Wilma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, Peter, Wilfred, Eugene, and Mike; and sisters, Lorraine Braun and Marge Burwick; and brothers-in-law, Anton “Tony” Braun and Louis Bosch.
