Cynthia “Cindee” Buettner, 69, Richardton, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 surrounded by her family in Richardton. Cynthia’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Keith Streifel as celebrant and Fr. Todd Kreitinger as con-celebrant. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil at 6 p.m. with Deacon Robert Bohn presiding. Interment will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Sentinel Butte. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church.

Cynthia “Cindee” Bohn was born on October 18, 1955, to Theodore “Ted” and Thelma (Brennan) Bohn in Beach. She was raised along with her ten siblings in Sentinel Butte, Beach, and Richardton where she graduated from Richardton High School in 1973.

As the good Lord would have it, Cindee met the love of her life, Donald “Don” Buettner, on the family farm while he was helping her relatives move to North Dakota from Wisconsin. After a few years of getting to know each other, they moved to Milwaukee, WI where she attended school for Cosmetology. The family knew this would be a very successful adventure because she had always been styling and cutting hair from a very young age.

Don and Cindee returned to Richardton and later married on June 4, 1985. They welcomed their children, Matthew and Katherine, who brought her life’s greatest joy as a mother. Cindee was a devoted Catholic and had great love for our Lord. She and Don received the sacrament of marriage on May 7, 1994, for Matthew was receiving his First Communion, and it was important to Cindee that they were able to receive the Eucharist together. She was very involved in the church and loved sharing her faith with others, especially the youth. She taught CCD classes for several years, with her favorite being faith formation.

Cindee was a woman of many talents. Don introduced her to the world of photography, which became a great passion of hers. She loved taking pictures, and one could be sure to find her behind the camera whenever the opportunity arose.

Cindee opened Visions of Beauty in Richardton in 2001, and it soon became a place in which, not only could one get their hair styled, but one could be sure to hear stories being told and laughter being shared, for working in the community became like an extended family to her.

Cindee was also a gifted seamstress and fulfilled her life-long dream of sewing her daughter’s wedding dress when Katherine married Jeremy Candrian. From this union came three beautiful grandchildren who became the loves of her life. She lit up whenever speaking of or spending time with them, and she fulfilled another dream by sewing all three of their Baptismal garments.

Cindee used her God-given talents to help her family and friends at every opportunity. She loved her family more than anything and would do whatever she could to spend time with them. One of her highlights every year was hosting family Christmases. No matter how messy the house, she would be up all night determined to get it tidy and decorated for Christmas Eve. Cindee was a strong, courageous woman who was determined to never let hardship slow her down. For years, she fought a battle with cancer like no other, yet never let it define her or keep her from living life.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Don Buettner; her children, Matthew Buettner and Katherine (Jeremy) Candrian; her grandchildren, Keaton, Cohen, and Adalie Candrian; father, Ted Bohn; siblings Ter Bohn, Jacque (Dennis) Dietz , Mick (Linda) Bohn, Tim Bohn, Scott (Jo) Bohn, Mark ( Carmen) Bohn, Robert Bohn, Teresa (Stacey) Kuhn, David (Deb) Bohn, and Keith Bohn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her niece, Hali Bohn; nephew, Jake Bohn; sister-in-law, Karla Bohn; grandson Calum Candrian; and mother, Thelma Bohn.
