Georgianna “Georgie” Magdalen (Hartman) Campbell, 89, formerly of Dickinson, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck. She was surrounded with an abundance of love as the gates of heaven opened and welcomed her for eternal life.
Georgie was one-of-a-kind. She will be long remembered for her positive outlook on life even during the most challenging times. She instilled this resilience in her daughters and those around her. Family was one of the most important things to her which was evident by the love and support she gifted to so many around her. Amidst, all the health challenges, she remained one of the most optimistic ladies. She instilled that belief in her three girls and always had a song in her heart.
She was born and raised in North Dakota and forever remained a true ND girl. She grew up alongside many aunts and uncles who helped mold her resilience and sense of humor. She attended a small country school north of Fayette, North Dakota which offered a picturesque landscape of rolling hills and farmland. She spent time looking after the little ones as well as did chores to help support the many Hartman families that built their homes nearby. At the age of 22, she met and married Kenneth Eugene Campbell of Dickinson. They had three daughters who brought them joy.
She was an active member and volunteer of her community belonging to several organizations. She worked for many years in the hospitality industry and Berg Elementary School. Her faith and Catholic upbringing were very important to her. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America. Her hobbies included singing, playing cards, sorting photographs and working endlessly on creating picture books for her daughters. She loved the color red and enjoyed going to the casinos and bowling.
Later in life she would meet George, who would remain a very close and endearing friend. They enjoyed dancing and spending time together.
Georgie leaves behind her daughters, Stella (Dan) Kienzle, Rose (Michael) Rosario, and Marilyn (Mike) Blanchard; eight grandchildren, Seth (Leah), Brina (Max), Lee, Lynn, Nicole (Nick), Jade, Mariyah, and Mikayla; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Addison, Claire, Livi, Owen, and Vincenzo (Enzo). She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Kenneth Euguene Campbell; son-in-law, William (Bill) Fisher; and sparkling granddaughter, Nina Rosario.
Georgie’s precious life was a true testament to love, generosity and the importance of family. She will be deeply missed.
A heart-felt thank you goes out to CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck along with the caring staff at several health care agencies and especially Northland Pace.
